Stavros Evagorou is a representative of Famagusta constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 2001.

Political career:

  • Member of the Nicosia Municipal Council (1991-2001).
  • Member of the Nicosia Sewage Board, of the Nicosia Water Board, of the board of Eurocypria Airlines Ltd and of the board of Cyprus Airways Ltd.
  • Member of the Central Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL) since 1995 and of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee since 2009.
  • Head of the Economic and Social Research Advisory Office of the AKEL Central Committee.
  • Spokesman of AKEL until September 2011.
