Environmental degradation is the deterioration or misuse of the environment through the depletion of Earth’s natural resources, the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wildlife. The term environmental degradation can range to include anything from water pollution to desertification. The effects of environmental degradation usually disproportionately affect the poorest and underdeveloped areas of the world.
