Encarnación Salmón Saiz was born in Escobedo de Camargo on August 12, 1949. She is currently a member of the Spanish Senate within the People’s Party (PP).

Political Career[edit]

In 1999, Saiz became a Municipal Councilor and until 2007, she was the Councillor of Social Services City of Santander. In the general election of March 2008, she was elected Senator of Cantabria and joined the Committee on Science and Innovation as well as the Committee on Health, Social Policy and Consumer Affairs, the Committee on Labor and Immigration. In the general elections of 20 November 2011, she was reelected to her Senate seat.

Education[edit]

Saiz obtained a diploma in Nursing.
