Upon completion of his law degree in 1960 he was then appointed probationer judge at the local court in Pitesti, a position which he was forced to give up due to the political climate. He then came to return to university to study Geology at the Geographical faculty. During many years of political unrest in the 90’s he was a founding member of the Civic Alliance where he was vice president from 1990 to 1996 and president from 1990 to 1993. From 1966 he held the position of assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Geology and since 1991 has been professor of Mineralogy at the Doctoral School of the University of Bucharest. 1991-1992 he worked as visiting professor to Duke University, USA and he has been the author of twelve specialty books, including “Mineralogy in the System of Earth Sciences” which was published by Imperial College, London and launched at Cambridge University by Professor John Deer, former vice chancellor. | Emil Constantinescu is a respected scholar in national as well as international academic circles. Upon completion of his law degree in 1960 he was then appointed probationer judge at the local court in Pitesti, a position which he was forced to give up due to the political climate. He then came to return to university to study Geology at the Geographical faculty.
