Ekin Deligöz was born 21 April 1971 in Tokat, Turkey. She is a German politician and originally from Turkey. She is a member of Alliance '90/The Greens. She currently serves as a member of the German Bundestag.

Biography[edit]

Ekin joined the Greens as a student member and belonged to the Bavaria of the Greens youth. Since 1998, she is a member of the Bundestag. She entered the Bundestag in 2002, and was re-elected in 2005 and 2009. In 2009, she was appointed deputy spokesperson of her party's parliamentary group. Deligöz was re-elected for the fourth time into the federal parliament following the 2013 election.

Education[edit]

She attended school in Weißenhorn and afterwards partook in Administrative Studies in Konstanz and Vienna earning a degree in 1998.

Notable Work[edit]

She is one of the eleven politicians of Turkish descent, who won a seat in the federal parliament including seven women. She is a board member of charities UNICEF and Against Oblivion – For Democracy.
