Denis Landy was born February 28th 1962. He is an Irish Labour Party politician.

Political Career[edit]

Denis Landy has been a member of the South Tipperary County Council from 1991 to 2011 for the Fethard local electoral area. He was also part of the Carrick-on-Suir Town Council from 1988 to 2011. Landy also served as mayor of the town for two terms.

In the general election of 2001 he was the Labour Party candidate for the Tipperary South constituency but was not elected. In 2011 he was elected to the Seanad on the Administrative Panel.

He is currently the Labour Party Seanad spokesperson on Environment, Local Government, Defence & Sport.
