Darragh O'Brien (08/07/2014 in Malahide) is an Irish Politician who is currently a member of the Irish Upper House (Seanad Eireann).
Political Career
O'Brien is a member of the Irish Fianna Fail Party. His first role in politics was a seat on the Fingall County Council. He became a Teachta Dala (TD) in 2007, in which he was chosen to represent the Dublin North Constituency. During his role as a TD, he was placed on a number of committees. He was Vice Chair of Public Accounts committee as well as a Member of the Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights. He also served on the front bench as a spokesperson for sport. In March 2011 he was elected to the Irish Upper House in which he is the leader of the opposition.
