Dara Calleary

Dara Calleary was born on the 10th May 1973. He is an Irish Fianna Fail Politician. He was elected as a Teachta Dala (TD) in 2007 and represents the MAYO constituency.

Political Career

Before he was elected to parliament, Calleary served on the Fianna Fail National Executive. In this role he has been placed on many party policy committees which have looked at issues concerning transport, enterprise and employment. During his political career he has fulfilled a number of roles in government. His first position was as Minister of State for Labour Affairs and Public Service Transformation which he held from 2009 to 2011. His responsibilities included Labour Affairs and in 2010 he was given the additional responsibility for Public Service Transformation.

Education

Calleary was educated at St Oliver Plunkett National School. He then moved on to St Muredachs College and completed his bachelors at Trinity College Dublin.
