Daniel Lipšic

Daniel Lipšic was born on 8th of July 1973. He is a member of the Slovak National Council representing KDH. He is also a member of the Committee on Defense and Security.

Political Career

In 1998, Daniel Lipšic became a member of the KDH party. He was Deputy Prime Minister (2002-2006), Minister of Justice (2002-2006) and former Minister of Interior (2010-2012). In May 2012, Lipšic along with other members, left the KDH and formed a new political party called NOVA. He currently serves as its president.

Education

In 1996, Daniel Lipšic graduated from the Faculty of Law at Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava. During his time at the university he also spent time at the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis and Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC in 1994. In 1997 Lipšic received his doctorate from the Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava. The following year he attended Harvard Law School on a Fulbright scholarship, graduating in 2000 with a Master of Law.
