FORWARD[edit]

From the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s to the case of the Tunisian fruit vender Mohammed Bouazizi in 2011, there have been numerous cases of nonviolent peaceful acts that led to larger movements for equality and justice. Below is a list of those individuals and groups who felt compelled to act selflessly in the name of something larger than themselves, inspired to create positive change by nonviolent peaceful means.
