Brigitte van der Burg was born on January 7th, 1961 in Tanga (Tanzania). She is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).

Political career

Before her political career, van der Burg was a researcher at Utrecht University. From 1992 till 1999 she was an account manager, and from 1999 till 2004 she was the Director of the Council for Entrepreneurship. She currently still owns her own business named BritBurg.

Education

Van den Burg studied social geography in developing countries at Utrecht University from 1980 until 1987. From 1989 until 1999, she did her master’s in Labour Economics at Utrecht University.
