Alastair Redfern was born on the 1st September 1948. He is the current Bishop of Derby in the Church of England.

Political Career[edit]

Redfern officially became a member of the House of Lords on the 29th March 2010. He is currently working on the committee which is responsible for drafting the Modern Slavery Bill. In 2013 he also chaired the Inner City Renewal Group organisation in Derby.

Education[edit]

Alistair Redfern began his education at Christ Church, Oxford. In 2001 he received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree.

Notable Work[edit]

From 1987 to 1997 he was the Canon Theologian of Bristol Cathedral. In 2005 he was made Bishop of Derby.
