Bertrand Auban

Bertrand Auban was born in 1947 and by profession he is a retired teacher. He is a member of the Senate of France representing the Socialist Group. He has been a member of the Superior Council for military reserves, member of the orientation Council of retired people and mayor of Eup.

He was elected in 1998 and in 2008 for the constituency of Haute-Garonne, a department in the region of Midi-Pyrénées.

Political Career

He is the Vice-president of the Socialist Group and the President of the Socialist Group's General Council of Haute-Garonne. Bertrand Auban is also member of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Army; member of the Study Board on Aviation, Electronic Communications and Post, Alimentary Agricultural Economy, Fungiculture, Forest, Mountains Economic Development, Arctic, Southern and Antarctic Lands, Tourism and Leisure Activities, Vines and Wine; member of the French Group for Interparlamentarian Union (U.I.P.) and Member of the Monitoring Commission on Funds for Retirement
