Anthony Fitzhardinge Gueterbock, Baron Berkeley and Baron Gueterbock
Anthony Fitzhardinge Gueterbock, Baron Berkeley and Baron Gueterbock was born on 20 September 1939. He is a British Labour politician. He is both an English hereditary peer and a life peer.
Political career
Gueterbock inherited his ancestors' ancient title of Baron Berkeley in 1992. He was created a Life Peer in 2000. He has held the positions of Opposition Spokesperson for Transport between 1996 and 1997 and Opposition Whip between 1996 and 1997. He was a member of many committees such as Administration and Works Committee (1998-1999), Select Committee on the Ceremony of Introduction (1997-1998), Adminstration Sub Committee (1997-1998), European Union Committee (1997-1999) and the EU Sub-Committee B - Internal Market, Energy and Transport (1996-1999). Between 2009 and 2010 he was the Chairman of European Rail Freight Association and before he was a board member.
Education
He studied at Eton College and at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated MA. He then started a career in civil engineering.
