Andrea Petru (born on 28th November 1949  in Arad) is a Romanian politician and he´s also a member of the Romanian Parliament. 


Political career

In the period 1983 and 1987 he was the secretary of Communist Party in Cut and between 1987 until September 1989 he assumed the same role in the Politehnica. In 1995 he became a member of the Socialist Party, which became later the PSD in 2001.


Professional experience

Before 1989 he was known to be a leader of the Romanian organizations of the communists students. Between 1975 and 1983 he was the president of the Romanian communists students association (UASCR), with the headquarter in Timisoara (CUT)
