Andrea Petru (born on 28th November 1949 in Arad) is a Romanian politician and a member of the Romanian Parliament. 


Political career[edit]

In the period between 1983 and 1987, he was the secretary of the Communist Party in Cut. Between 1987 and September 1989, he assumed the same role in the Politehnica. In 1995 he became a member of the Socialist Party, which became later the PSD in 2001.


Professional experience[edit]

Before 1989 he was known to be a leader of the Romanian Organizations of Communist Students. Between 1975 and 1983 he was the president of the Romanian Communists Students Association (UASCR).
