Anastasios Nerantzis

Anastasios Nerantzis (Greek: Αναστάσιος Νεραντζής) (born October 3, 1944) is a Greek politician and lawyer. He currently serves as a New Democracy Party member of the Hellenic Parliament. From 2006 to 2007, he was the Deputy Minister of Development, while previously, from 2004 to 2006, he served as the Deputy Minister of Transport and Networks.

Political Career

He has been a co-founder of the New Democracy Party and was firstly elected in Peiraios B' region, running with the same party, in the Parliamentary elections of 1993. Since then, he has been reelected continuously until the present day. He has served as Secretary General and Vice-President of the Greek Parliament. He has also been a Member of the Committee dedicated to the Constitution Revision, as well as of the examination Committee inquiring the Siemens scandal. Currently he is the President of the Committee of Institutions and Transparency.

Education

He studied at the Law School at the University of Athens.
