Anže Logar (born May 5, 1976) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenian: Slovenska demokratska stranka, also known by the acronym SDS).

Political Career[edit]

He was elected to the National Assembly in 2014.

In 2000, he started working at SKB Banka d.d. and in January 2003 he left the position of the product manager in the marketing department for the European Parliament, where he became a consultant for Slovenia in the Group of the European People's Party. In April 2006, he took charge of public relations at the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for European Affairs; in the middle of 2007, he became the director of the Government Communication Office. In the first half of 2008, Logar became the spokesperson of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU Council. He performed the function of the Director of Government Communication Office and of the Spokesperson of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia also between 2012 and 2013. In 2013-2014, Logar worked as a Minister Plenipotentiary at the Directorate for Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He is president of the Municipal Committee of SDS Ljubljana and from 2010 a city councilor in the Municipality of Ljubljana.

Education[edit]

In 2000, Logar obtained Bachelor of Economics at the Business School of Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. In 2006, he finished his master’s at the Graduate School of Government and European Studies. He is currently completing doctoral thesis on the topic of election systems.
