Algimantas Salamakinas (Baronina, Lithuania, 4 September 1952) is a politician and social activist. First time was elected to the parliament in 1992. A member of Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, in Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. A chairman of the Energy Commission and a member of Elders Conference.


Political career

Since 2001 is a member of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. From 1992 is elected to the Parliament each four years. From 1996 to 2000 was a Vice-President of the Human Rights Committee. Algimantas Salamakinas also worked at Ethics and Procedures Commission. From 2012 a chairman of the Environment Committee, a member of Energy Commission and a member of Elders Conference.

Education

Algimantas Salamakinas served in the Soviet Army from 1971 to 1973. And in 1977 acquired secondary education in Kėdainiai.
