Alexandros Meikopoulos was born Volos in 1984. He grew up in Nea Ionia Volos in a refugee environment with strong leftist ideals. At present he lives in Volos.
Political Career[edit]
He was an active member in All Students' Struggles during his high school and university years. He participated in the movement of Indignants in Volos as well as in the organisational commitee of the popular assemblies in Volos. He encourages and promotes every action taken by the Solidarity Foundation in Nea Ionia-Volos. He was elected for the first time as a member of parliament with the SYRIZA-EKM party on the 17/6/2012 elections. He is a member of the committee for the Economic Affairs.
Education Career[edit]
He studied Political Science and History at Pantio University. He is a postgraduate student at the University of Thessalia in the department of History, Archaiology and Social Anthropology.He speaks English and German.
