Alain Anziani is a member of the Senate of France, for the Socialist Group. He was elected in 1951 for the costituency of Gironde, a department in the region Aquitaine.

Biography and Political Career

Alain Anziani was born in 1951 in Paris. He attended the Institute for Political Studies in Paris, he has a master in philosophy and in law and is a doctor in economy. From 1979 to 2009 he has been working as a lawyer, in Paris and then in Bordeaux. In 1992 he has been at the top of the list of Socialist Party in the Gironde's regional elections. From 1993 to 2008 he has been premier secretary of the Socialist Party in Gironde and from 1998 to 2008 vice president of the Regional Council of Aquitaine, responsible for finance, economy and finally for the plan contract with the State.
