West German Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer is invited to Moscow. He takes part in talks with Krushchev and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, Anastas Mikoyan, in order to negotiate the release of German prisoners of war in exchange for diplomatic relations. These prisoners are subsequently released and repatriated.
