“Children's Rights in International Law and Practice in Turkey” A lecture by Abdulkadir Ilhan at The Montenegro Symposium on International Law & Human Rights (Cetinje, Montenegro; July 8th - 10th, 2014)

Abdulkadir Ilhan was born on June 1st, 1951 in Bayburt, Turkey and is a Turkish judge. He speaks German and Turkish and has has four children.

Legal Career

Abdulkadir Ilhan has had a successful career as Justice Inspector and worked as the Technical Judge of the Turkish Ministry of Justice, as well as Chief Prosecutor of the Istanbul DGM Attorney General's Authority from 2003 to 2004. Moreover he served as the High Court Chief Prosecutor of Bursa from 2004 to 2005. On July 25th 2005, he continued his career as a member of Supreme Court and was promoted as member of 3rd Penal Chamber. He has since been appointed First Vice President of the Court of Cassation (the Precidency of Assembly of Criminal Chamber) since November 12th, 2012.

Education

Abdulkadir Ilhan graduated from Ankara University in 1980 with a degree in law.
