Jasna Murgel (born June 22, 1970) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the Party of Miro Cerar (Slovenian: Stranka Mira Cerarja - SMC).

Political Career

She was elected to the National Assembly in 2014.

Professional Career

In the years 1998-2000 she worked as an expert associate at the District Court in Maribor, later she took over the position of the Judge; a function she held until 2010. Meanwhile she was also the Head of the Executive Department to the District Court in Maribor. From 2002 till 2004, she worked as a Teaching Assistant for Public International Law at the Faculty of Law in Maribor, later she became an Assistant Professor. She performs the same function also at the Doba Faculty of Applied Business and Social Studies Maribor.

Education

In 1993, Jasna Murgel graduated at the Faculty of Law in Maribor, in 1997 she finished her master's degree in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana and in 2002 she obtained PhD in Law at the University of Maribor. Meanwhile, she also passed the state law exam.
