Wopke Hoekstra

Wopke Hoekstra was born on the 30th of September 195 in Bennekom. He is a member of the Dutch Senate for the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). He also is a consultant in Amsterdam.

Political career

Between 2002 and 2004 he worked for Royal Dutch Shell in Berlin, Hamburg and Rotterdam where he held various different commercial managerial positions. In 2005 he was columnist for the Dutch newspaper 'Het Financieele Dagblad'. Since 2006 he is a consultant for McKinsey. He also has been active in some CDA-commissions.

Education

Hoekstra studied history for one year. Between 1994 and 2001 he studied Dutch law at the University of Leiden. In the first part of 2000 he did some subjects at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali in Rome.
