Dušan Strnad (born October 24, 1961) is a member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia.

Political career

Strnad has worked as General Secretary of the Slovenian Democratic Party since 2000. He was a member of the National Electoral Commission for eight years. In 2010, he was elected Mayor of Ivančna Gorica. He has been a member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia since 2012.

Professional Career

Upon the establishment of the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica in 1994, he became the secretary of the newly established municipal party committee of SDS (Slovenian democratic party) and in 1997, he took over as its chairman. A year later, he was first elected to the Municipal Council of Ivančna Gorica, where he worked as a councilor for three terms. From 2005 till the mayor elections, he was also the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica. He was involved in some major municipal projects and activities during these years.

Education

Strnad acquired the title of Business Secretary at the junior college Doba.
