Dario Franceschini

Dario Franceschini is the current minister for cultural heritage and tourism. He was born in Ferrara on 19th October 1958.

Political career

He was the former Secretary of Democratic Party in Italy. He was also undersecretary of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. He had the mandate of reforms during both Amato and D’Alema’s governments. Since 2001 he has been a deputy. He was a member of the Constitutional Affairs Commission of the Chamber. From 1997 to 1999 he was the Deputy Secretary and Coordinator of the party Olive Tree. In 2001 he was one of the founding members of the Daisy and in 2002 he was the executive coordinator of the party.

Education

He studied Law at the University of Ferrara and he was a lawyer before starting his political career.
