Erwin Sellering
Erwin Sellering was born on the 18th of October 1949 Sprockhövel. He has been a member of the German Federal Council for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) since 2008. He is the Minister-President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Political career[edit]
In 1994 he started to work for the Justice Department in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and was appointed as the Chief Judge at the Administrative Court. In 1996 he was appointed as the Vice-President of the Administrative Court. In the same year he became a member of the SPD National Executive. Between 2000 and 2006 he was the Minister of Justice and between 2006 and 2008 the Minister of Social Affairs and Health of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Education[edit]
Sellering studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg, Bochum and Münster. In 1978 he was appointed a temporary judge and in 1981 as a judge at the Administrative Court.
