Thomas Byrne was born June 1st 1977 is a member of the Irish Seanad Éireann for the Fianna Fáil party.

Political Career

He successfully stood his first election in 2007, when he won a seat in the Dáil Éireann at the 2007 general election. In 2009 he was appointed Cathaoirleach (Chairman) of Ógra Fianna Fáil by then Taoiseach and President of Fianna Fáil Brian Cowen at the National Youth Conference. In 2011 he was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Cultural and Educational Panel. He is the Fianna Fáil Seanad spokesperson on Public Expenditure and Reform.

Education

Thomas Byrne was educated at St Mary's Diocesan School and Trinity College, where he studied law.
