Introduction

Ned O’Sullivan was born on September 25th, 1950 in County Kerry, Ireland. He is an Irish Fianna Fàil politician and member of Seanad Eirann on the Labour Panel.

Political Career

From 2985 to 2007 he was a member of the Listowel Town Council and in the Kerry County Council from 1991 to 2007 senator for the Labour Panel.

Education

He was educated at the University College Dublin and St Patrick’s College of Education in Drumcondra. He worked as a teacher at the primary and secondary school in Dublin at Offaly and Kerry before taking his family’s menswear business in Listowel.

Notable Work

He was a former director of Shannon Foynes Port Company, and he was closely involved in the promotion of the Shannon Estuary as an industrial zone for the mid-west. Moreover he was a member of the South West Regional Authority and the South and East Assembly. His political priorities concern equality in education and more effective local government.
