Jaco Geurts

Jacob Lubertus Geurts, born on the 11th of July 1970 in Voorthuizen) is a Dutch politician. He has been a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) since 2002. As representative of the CDA he has been a member of the municipal council of Barneveld since 7 March 2006, as well as a member of the Dutch House of Representatives since September the 20th of 2012.

Career

Geurts held several positions, such as planner, buyer and quality manager at an agricultural company. He then became the National Secretary of the Dutch pig farmers union. After this his political career took off, as he started serving as a member of the city council of Barneveld in 2006 and fraction chairman for CDA the same year.

Education

Geurts holds a middle-level applied education (MBO) degree in mechanical engineering. He also has a higher education degree for superintendent training, obtained at hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein in Leeuwarden.
