Baroness Coussins
Jean Elizabeth Coussins, Baroness Coussins (born 26 October 1950), is a British parliamentarian and an adviser on corporate responsibility.
Political Career
Baroness Coussins joined the House of Lords on the 23rd of March 2007. He has held a position on the EU Sub Committee C - External Affairs since 2013, and the Information Committee between 2007-12.
Notable Work
He has held a number of public positions including as a member of the Consultive Council for the British Board of Film Classification between 2002 and 2005, a Non-Executive Direction of the Advertising Standards Authority between 2003-09, commissioner of Better Regulation Commission between 2004-07, President of the Money Advice Trust from 2010, President of the Peru Support Group 2012 and Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Linguists from 2012. In the Private sector he has been a Secretary of the United Nations Association between 1973-75, Women’s Rights Officer National Council for Civil Liberties between 1975-80, Deputy Director of the Child Poverty Action Group between 1980 and 1983, Senior Officer of the Inner London Education Authority between 1983 and 1988, Director Commission for Racial Equality between 1988 and 96, Chief Executive of The Portman Group between 1996 and 2006 and has been an Independent Consultant of the Jean Coussins Consulting Ltd since 2006.
