He was born in Madrid in 1962.

Political Career

After the electoral victory of the Popular Party, he was appointed in May 1996 the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as part of the team closer to José María Aznar collaborators. On 5 May 2000 he was appointed Secretary of State for Territorial Organization in the Ministry of Public Administration, a position he held throughout the Seventh Legislature of Spain. He was director of the campaign of Mariano Rajoy in the general elections of 2004 and then Executive Secretary of Communications of the People's Party. He first earned a seat in 2004 by Madrid Congress of Deputies in the lists of People's Party, and revalidated in 2008. Due to criticism that some of his colleagues and himself headed Mariano Rajoy after his second election defeat, he left to join the national executive body of his party in the XVI Congress in June 2008. Between 2004 and 2012 he joined the Board of the Elcano Royal Institute of International and Strategic Studies. In November 2011 Gabriel Elorriaga was re-elected deputy for Madrid. Currently he chairs the Committee on Finance and Public Administration of the House of Representatives.

Education

Law graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid (1985), after completing his studies at approved competitions State Finance. He has also served as Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid.
