Volker Beck is a member of Alliance 90/The Greens, and was born on December 12, 1960 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany.
Political Career[edit]
Beck has been member of the German Bundestag since 1994; 1994-2002 legal affairs spokesman and from 2005 to 2013 human rights spokesman for the Alliance 90 / The Greens; 1998-2002 Coordinator of the Group Executive Board for the Workgroup interior, law, women, youth and petitions; 2002-2013 First Parliamentary Secretary of the Alliance 90 / The Greens. Since 2013 domestic and religious policy spokesman for the Alliance 90 / The Greens.
Education[edit]
Beck studied History, Art History and German in Stuttgart.
Notable Work[edit]
Since 2014, Beck has been the acting chairman of the German-Israeli Parliamentary Group of the German Bundestag.
