Andreas Zakostelsky, born on May 26, 1962 in Sydney (Australia), is an Austrian politician and Member of Parliament for the ÖVP (Österreichische Volkspartei, Austrian People's Party).

Political career[edit]

Zakostelsky is active in the Chamber of Commerce. He was elected in 2008 as a member of the Presidium of the Chamber of Commerce Austria. He is also a member of the Management Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Vienna Jubilee Fund and a member of the Division Conference of Banking and Insurance. In addition, he has held the chairmanship of the representative pension Vienna Chamber of Commerce and is the Chairman and Trade Representative of the trade representation pension of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. In addition, since 2007 he has been a member of the Advisory Board Economic Forum of Executives, and since 2009, Vice Chairman of the DenkWerkstatt St. Lambrecht.

He is also Chairman of the Association of Steiermärker in Vienna and Philistines Senior Catholic Austrian high school Landsmannschaft Normannia Graz. Zakostelsky was elected during the national elections of 2013. He was sworn in on 29th October 2013 as a Member of Parliament for his party, the ÖVP.

Education[edit]

Zakostelsky was born in Sydney, where he attended primary school from 1969 until 1970. He then moved with his family to Graz, where he attended the Marshall Elementary School. As of 1973 he went to the Bundesrealgymnasium in Kepler, where he took the Matura in 1981. Subsequently he studied Law at the University of Graz. He wrote his thesis on possibilities and limitations of environmental criminal law and graduated in 1988.
