Vasileios Kikilias was born in 15 May 1974 in Athens.He is a retired Greek professional basketball player.In 2012 he was elected to the Hellenic Parliament as a representative of New Democracy, and on 10 June 2014 was appointed Minister for Public Order and Citizen Protection.
Political Career[edit]
Vasileios Kikilias was first elected as a member in the Municipal Council of the City of Athens in 2006.Subsequently he served as President of the Organization of Youth and Sports between 2007-2011.In parallel, he is a member of the Political Committee on N.D since 2007. In 2009, he was Parliamentary candidate with N.D for Athens A'. In 2010 , he was assigned as Secretary of Sports for N.D and at the same time he was candidate for Governor of Attica and since 2011 he has been the leader of the major opposition party. Last but not least, he served as Deputy Secretary for the Political Platform of N.D.
Education Career[edit]
He studied medicine in Medical School of the University of Athens.In 2008 he got his MSc in Health Care Management, from the National School of Public Health.Finally in 2011,he completed his academic career with a PhD in Medicine from the University of Athens.He also speaks English and French.
Notable work[edit]
He has 18 caps and scored 228 points with the Greek National Team.He won the silver medal at the 1991 Eurobasket for Cadets. Furthermore he won the Greek Championship in 2002 with AEK and the Greek Cup in 2000 & 2001. Last but not least he won the Saporta Cup in 2000 with AEK.
