Andrea Gessl-Ranftl, born on November 16, 1964 in Leoben, Steiermark, is an Austrian politician and has been a Member of Parliament for the SPÖ (Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreichs; Social Democratic Party of Austria) since 2008.
Political career[edit]
Before being elected as an MP for the SPÖ in the Austrian National Council, Andrea Gessl-Ranftl held numerous other political positions. From 2005 to 2008, she was a member of the council of Steiermark and member of the Municipal Council for the Municipality Trofaiach from 2005 to 2010. She has been the Deputy District Leader of the SPÖ in Leoben since 2008 and was the Deputy City Leader for the SPÖ in Trofaiach from 2004 until 2008.
