Herbert Behrens is a member of The Left Party and was born on May 30th, 1954, in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Germany. He is a trade union secretary.
Political Career[edit]
Behrens joined the DKP (German Communist Party) in 1970, and remained a member until 1989. In 2005, he was one of the co-founders of WASG, the predecessor to The Left Party. Since 2008, he has been a member of the state executive board of The Left Party in Lower Saxony.
