Political career
Jimmy Harte was first elected to Letterkenny Town Council in 1994 and then to Donegal County Council, where he was chairperson of the Letterkenny-Milford. He was elected to the Irish Senate on the Industrial and Commercial Panel in April 2011 and became Spokesperson on Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, always for the Labour Party.
Education
Jimmy Harte was educated at Saint Eunan's College in Letterkenny and obtained a bachelors degree in psychology from University College Dublin.
Notable works
Jimmy Harte set up the Harte Insurances, his insurance broker business, at the age of 24.
