Asimina Xirotyri-Aikateriniari was born in Fthiotida in 1947. She is a Greek politician and civil engineer.

Political Career

As a student, she joined KKE Interior, EAR (Greek Left) and later Sinaspismos. She is now a member of the Democratic Left. She was elected to the Prefecture of Thessaloniki in 1990. From this position, she was able to promote solutions to significant regional problems. As head of the DIM.O.S’ party, she was elected Regional Councillor of Central Macedonia through the regional elections of 2010.

In the national elections of 2000 and 2004, she was elected both times as a Member of Parliament by the first constituency of Thessaloniki, and was affiliated with the political party of Sinaspismos.
