Henk Nijboer was born on the 31st of March 1983 in Groningen. He is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the Labour Party.

Political career

Between 2003 and 2007 he was a member of the States-Provincial in the province of Groningen, where he held the portfolio of physical infrastructure, tourism and recreation. In 2006 and 2007 he worked as a student-assistant at the University of Leiden on a research project about the reform of social security. Since 2007 he has continued working on this research as a PhD-student. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked for the Ministry of Finance.
