He is the scientific coordinator of a national project aiming to develop and promote nationwide “Sport for All” programs that is funded by the Ministry of Health. Athanasios Koustelios has published a large number of research papers for internationally acclaimed journals in the areas of organization behaviour, and human resource management in sport and educational organizations. He frequently reviews over ten scientific journals and is currently a member of multiple scientific organizations. He has been involved in setting up the first European Master Program in Sport Tourism, titled International Master in Sport Tourism Engineering (IMISTE).
