Silvia Franco González

Silvia Franco González, born 29 March 1969 in Carracedelo in the Spanish province of León, is a Spanish senator representing León in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Franco González is a member of the Spanish Popular Party, Partido Popular (PP).

Political Career[edit]

Franco González started her political career working in the Regional Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism in Castilla y León in 1998. In February 2003, she was appointed to the Regional Department of Communication Management. From 2008 to 2011 she was the Service Coordinator within the unit of Bierzo in Castilla y León. She was elected Spanish senator for the 10th Congress of Deputies and from then she has hold different responsibilities. Silvia Franco González is the Deputy Speaker of the Justice Committee and a member of the Committees on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, on Local Institutions and on Rogatory. Finally, it should be highlighted that in 2012 she was a finalist of the Senator Revelation Award given by the Association of Parliamentary Journalists.


Education[edit]

Silvia Franco González has a degree in Law from the University of León. Furthermore, she continued she is currently pursuing a degree in Political Sciences from the National University of Distance Education (UNED), which she is meant to finish in 2016. Finally, she is taking part in the 11th Leadership Program in Public Management 2014-2015 from IESE Business School from the University of Navarra.
