Richard Bruton (Fine Gael) Member of Irish Parliament

Richard Bruton was born on March 1953, he has been the Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North–Central constituency since 1982


Political Career[edit]

Richard Bruton currently serves as Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. Bruton was elected to Meath County Council in 1979 and was elected Seanad Éireann in 1981 on the Agricultural Panel. At the February he was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael TD He was Minister for Enterprise and Employment from 1994-1997 when 1,000 jobs a week were being created in Ireland. Additionally, he previously served as Minister of State at the Department of Industry and Commerce, 1986-87. Bruton launched the first annual Action Plan for Jobs in 2012 contributing to job creation


Education[edit]

Richard Bruton attended University College Dublin and did his masters in Philosophy at Nuffield College, Oxford.
