Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón

Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, born 29 February 1972 in Madrid, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish province of Madrid. Sánchez Pérez-Castejón is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) and he is a member of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Grupo Socialista (GS) within the Chamber of Deputies. He is the current Secretary General of the PSOE.

Political Career[edit]

Pedro Sánchez has been an MP for the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) from Madrid, during the IX and the X legislatures. Previously, he has played an important role in the private sector within the international consultancy sphere. In the public sector he worked at the United Nations and the European Parliament. He has been the Secretary General of the PSOE since July 2014. In the Chamber of Deputies Pedro Sánchez is a member of the Permanent Committee and of the Rules Committee. Besides this, he is associated to the Committee on Industry, Energy and Tourism, to the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Environment. Finally he is assigned to the Joint Committee for the European Union.


Education[edit]

Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón has a doctorate in Economics and Business from the Camilo José Cela University. He holds a Masters in European Political Economy at the Free University Brussels and a Master in Public Leadership from IESE. Finally, he is an associate Professor in Camilo José Cela University.
