Introduction[edit]

He was born on March 7th, 1934. He is a retired Irish Fine Gael politician, and a former TD for the Wexford constituency.

Political Career[edit]

In the 1977 general election he was first elected to Dàil Eireann and he held his seat until the 1987 general election when he lost it to Brendan Howlin of the Labour Party. In 1989 he was re-elected at the general election, in substitution of Avril Doyle, but she regained her seat at the 1992 general election. On the 20th Seanad he was elected to the Agricultural Panel. Between 1997 and 2002 he was part of the constituency Wexford part of 28th Dàil House.

Notable Work[edit]

On the 22nd Dàil he has been Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and on the 24th Dàil he was Minister of State at the Department of Fisheries Forestry and Minister of State at the Department of the Gaeltacht. During the 28th Dàil he was Vice-Chairman of Enterprise and Small Business Committee.

Education[edit]

He is a public representative and a farmer.
