Laura Carmen Seara Sobrado, born 20 April 1975 in Allariz, Ourense, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish province of Ourense. Seara Sobrado is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) and she is a member of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Grupo Socialista (GS) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career[edit]

Seara Sobrada has been an MP for the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) from Ourense, Galicia, for one term, since 2011. Previously, she was a Member of Parliament for Galicia from 2001 to 2010. Nowadays, she is the Director General of the Institute of Women and Minister of State for Equality. In the Chamber of Deputies she is associated with the Constitutional Commission, the Development Commission, to the Committeeon Employment and Social Security. Besides this, she is a member of the Committee on Industry, Energy and Tourism and of the Commission of Equality, a deputy speaker of the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Environment, a spokesman of the Commission for the Comprehensive Disability Policy; and finally, a member of the Joint Committee on Relations with the Ombudsman, of the Subcommittee and Analysis Study Spanish Rail System of the Spanish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Laura Carmen Seara Sobrada has a degree in Law.
