Katrin Altpeter
Katrin Altpeter was born on the 6th of November 1963 in Waiblingen. She has been a member of the German Federal Council for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) since 2011. She is the minister of labour, social affairs, family, women and elderly of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Political career[edit]
She has been a member of the SPD since 1989. From 1989 to 1999 she was a city councillor in Waiblingen-Neustadt. Between 1994 and 1999 she was a community councillor in Waiblingen and subsequently, from 1999 to 2011, she was a member of the council of Rems-murr. Since 2001 she has been a member of the State Diet of Baden-Württemberg. From 2002 to 2006, she was the chairman of the SPD council group.
Education[edit]
Altpeter graduated from German secondary school in 1982 with the Abitur (A-Level). From 1982 to 1984 she did various different internships. Subsequenly, she trained to become a nurse and then trained to become a professor in nursing herself.
