Jaime Miguel Mateu Istúriz, born 5 June 1957 in Madrid, is a Spanish senator representing the Spanish province of Guadalajara in Castilla-La-Mancha in the 10th Congress of Deputies. González García is a member of the Spanish People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP).

Political Career[edit]

Jaime Miguel Mateu Istúriz started his political career as the head of the Territorial Department of Finance of the Government of Castilla y León in Burgos from 1998 until 2003 when he was appointed Territorial Delegate of the Junta de Castilla y León, a position he held until 2001. Nowadays he is the Spokesman for the Development Commission within the Spanish Senate. Furthermore, he is a member of the Commission of Defense, the Commision of Economics and Competitiveness and the Commission of Interior. He is also a member of the Joint Commission of the Committees of Interior, Education and Sport, and Industry, Energy and Tourism.


Education[edit]

Mateu Istúriz has a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is a State Tax Inspector and a non-practicing Auditor of Accounts.
