Ignazio La Russa

Ignazio La Russa was born in 1947 and he is an Italian politician and deputy.

Political career[edit]

In 1985 he was elected Regional Councillor for the Lombardy region for the Neo-Fascist Italian party-Movimento Sociale Italiano. In 1992 he was elected member of the Parliament to both the Senate of the Republic and the Chamber of Deputies. In 1993 he was the vice president of the National Alliance Party. In 1994 he was also the deputy speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. In 1996 he was appointed chairman of the committee on Parliamentary Immunity of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2001 he was elected chairman of the Deputies of the National Alliance Parliamentary Group at the Chamber of Deputies. From 2008 until 2011 he became the minister of Defence. In 2013, he was appointed president of Brothers of Italy, a new national conservative party that he founded.

Education[edit]

He graduated in Law at the University of Pavia.
